Celta Vigo Preview
A very good team with Latin spirit everywhere! Solid defensively and with great temperament in counter attacks. As a host team, they dominate from the first minute in order to take the lead. Against a team in the same level, Celta have no problems. Last year Celta won 13 out of 19 games at home. Formation: 4-2-3-1.
Players In: Guayre (Villarreal) Jorge (Atlético de Madrid) Lequi (Lazio) George Lucas Nené (Alavés) Gabriel Tamas (Spartak Moscú) Players Out: Juan Sánchez (retired) Giovanella Silva (Valencia) José Enrique (Valencia) Méndez Bouzón (Recreativo de Huelva) Toni Moral (Alavés)Transfers assessment:
Two excellent wingers left, Enrique and Silva, (especially Silva who was irreplaceable), but those who replaced them are even better overall. Guayre (forward), Nené (a Brazilian forward and Alaves' top scorer last year) and George Lucas, are capable players and will fill the gap and more. So Celta is strengthened.
They have a UEFA cup campaign too and this will be a hard test for Celta's squad. Don't forget that three years ago they played in the Champions League and got relegated by season end, so Celta have to be careful. Their tactics are known now and won't be underestimated by anyone this year. Still, Celta remain an excellent quick team and as long as they handle their UEFA campaign appropriately, they can finish among the top 7.
