Everton Betting Preview

All eyes will be on striker Andy Johnson at Goodison Park. They’ve taken a £8.6m gamble on him and the Everton faithful will hope he can repay them with plenty of goals this year. Johnson’s partnership with James Beattie will be crucial. If they gel, then things could look good and Everton could well finish in a European spot. If they don not and the goals dry up, then the Toffees and manager David Moyes especially will feel the pressure.

But it is hard to see this Everton side struggling to avoid relegation. The team now has a depth to it that should ensure a decent enough season. They’ve also splashed out £5m on Joleon Lescott from Wolves to strengthen their defence and Tim Howard could prove to be a valuable asset between the sticks. However, Everton never do anything by the book and they could just as easily implode and have a nightmare season. They are always that sort of club. It is either one extreme or the other.
