FAQ
1) WHAT IS THE LIST?
The List is an email discussion list hosted on the Internet by the Internet Soccer Fans Association. This list is
dedicated to discussing the Arsenal Football Club, and some closely related issues.
For further explanation of those
"closely related issues", the reader is referred to question #4. To post to the list, send your comment to
"arsenal@isfa.com"(without the quotation marks), after you have
subcribed to the list.

2) HOW DID I GET SUBSCRIBED?
Basically, there are two ways that
you got subscribed: Either you subscribed yourself (by emailing "listserver@isfa.com
" with the message body "subscribe arsenal" (both without the quotation marks), or someone subscribed you.
The only people who should have been subscribed by someone else are those who asked the administrator to do so. If
you feel that someone has incorrectly subscribed you to this list, PRIVATELY email one of the administrators, Martin Allen or Brian Hicks and they
will attempt to straighten your situation out.
3) HOW DO I UNSUBSCRIBE?
There is a message at the bottom of every List message giving brief
instructions on how to unsubscribe. To unsubscribe, send an email message to "
listserver@isfa.com" (still without the quotation marks) with the body of"unsubscribe arsenal"
(also without the quotation marks).
If this is unsuccessful, it is most likely because your email message appears to be coming from an address other
than the one that is subscribed (a number of email accounts actually have 2 or 3 address of varying length for example,
an email account could be reachable at: addr1@isfa.com, and
addr2@isfa.com).
To figure out what precise account is subscribed, check the message headers on a message you get from the List. There
should be a line towards the bottom of the header entitled "X-ListMember:" followed by an email address. This is
the precise email address that is subscribed to the Arsenal Mailing List; to unsubscribe send an email to "
listserver@isfa.com" with the body of "unsubscribe arsenal XXXXXXXX"
where the XXXXXXXX is the precise email address in the X-ListMemeber: line.
If taking this step does not help you, PRIVATELY one of the administrators, Martin Allen or Brian Hicks and politely ask for their assistance. DO NOT just post a
message to the list asking that you be unsubscribed. There are around 850 people on this list at the time of writing, and
799 of us can't do anything to help you. The administrators can.
4)WHAT IS THE PROPER MATERIAL TO POST HERE?
This is a matter open for debate, but so far what seems to be acceptable
material to post to the list is clearly defined in the rules section.
5)WHY DOES MY MAIL GET BOUNCED?
There should be a message at the top of the bounced mail explaining why your
email was bounced back to you. It should explain the problem. Most likely, it is because you are seemingly posting from
an account that is not subscribed (refer to question #3 above about multiple email accounts). Check your settings files
and make sure that you email address is set to the one that appears in the X-ListMember: line of your message headers.
For further assistance, please privately email one of the administrators, Martin Allen or Brian Hicks
6)WHY HAVE I BEEN UNSUBSCRIBED?
There are two reasons why this may have occured. The first is that the
administrator has unsubscribed your address due to failure to comply with the rules. Secondly,
every so often, the list server will clear up dead email addressses and some valid ones may get caught up in this
process. This is quite rare, but if it does occur, just simply re-subscribe.
