Grimsby
Town were formed in 1878 and have played in every Football
League Division (apart form the new Premier League).
The Mariners have reached the semi-final
of the F.A. Cup twice, v Arsenal at Leeds Road (63,210) and v Wolves
at Old Trafford (76,962 - a ground record).
The
Mariners most famous manager to date is probably the late Bill
Shankly. They are now managed by Alan Buckley (again!) who took over
from Kenny Swain who was badly treated by the Town board.
