South African town of Mmabatho to host Cosafa Castle Cup final [Sun Jul 24th, 2005]

Johannesburg (Reuters)- The north-west South African town of Mmabatho will host this year's Cosafa Castle Cup final, the annual southern African championships, organisers said.

Four countries will play in a two-day mini-tournament to decide the trophy.

Defending champions Angola, who are using the tournament as preparation for their final run-in to possible World Cup qualification, meet Zimbabwe in the first semi-final on August 13, followed by a meeting between South Africa and Zambia.

The semi-final winners return the next day for the final.

All four countries are past winners of the tournament, which has been held annually since 1997.
