Germany: Injury stint for Bayern's Salihamidzic [Thu Aug 25th, 2005]
Bayern Munich midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic is facing up to three weeks on the sidelines after tearing a groin muscle during a friendly against a Croatian XI in Zagreb.
The Bosnian international has already undergone surgery and been told to rest for three weeks, forcing him out of the weekend visit of Hertha Berlin to the Allianz Arena and possibly the trip to Nurnberg on September 10.
It is the second time in the past year that the 28-year-old has required surgery on his groin after spending last Christmas recovering from a similar injury.
Salihamidzic's loss, however, could be compensated by the return to training of Andreas Gorlitz, the right-back who has been out of action for almost a year after tearing cruciate knee ligaments.
Gorlitz is unlikely to be named in the squad this weekend but should be fit for the trip to Bavarian rivals Nurnberg in a fortnight.
