Neville set to miss England qualifiers [Thu Aug 25th, 2005]
London (Reuters) - England are likely to be without defender Gary Neville for their World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Northern Ireland next month, after injuring his groin playing for Manchester United.
Neville limped off after 13 minutes of United's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round second leg match in Debrecen, with initial reports suggesting he had torn a muscle.
If that diagnosis proves accurate, the 30-year-old Neville faces being out of action for up to six weeks.
England, who trail European Group Six leaders Poland by two points with a game in hand, face Wales in Cardiff on September 3 and Northern Ireland in Belfast four days later.
