Chelsea to face Liverpool in UEFA Champions League [Thu Aug 25th, 2005]

Monaco (Reuters) - Holders Liverpool will play Premier League champions Chelsea in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

In the draw Chelsea were placed in the same group G as Liverpool, who were denied the usual "country protection" when UEFA gave them special dispensation to defend their title despite not qualifying automatically.

Liverpool beat Chelsea in last year's semi-finals.
