Italy: Carini joins Cagliari on loan [Fri Aug 26th, 2005]
Inter Milan goalkeeper Fabian Carini has joined Cagliari on a season-long loan.
The arrival of Brazil international Julio Cesar this summer relegated Carini to third choice in the San Siro pecking order and coach Roberto Mancini has decided to let the Uruguayan ply his trade elsewhere for the time being.
Carini made just nine appearances last season for Inter following his summer switch from Juventus.
He still has four years on his contract at the Nerazzurri, but wanted first-team football as he looks to win back his starting spot for Uruguay ahead of next year's World Cup.
