Sweden: Gothenburg a point behind leaders [Fri Aug 26th, 2005]
IFK Gothenburg moved to within a point of leaders Djurgarden with a 2-0 win over 10-man Elfsborg in front of a sold out Boras Arena in Sweden.
Both goals came in the second half with George Mourad opening the scoring in the 62nd minute, slotting home the loose ball after Elfsborg goalkeeper Hakan Svensson had parried Adam Johansson's shot.
Svensson then received his marching orders in the 85th minute after handling outside his area, and IFK made the most of their man advantage to tie the game up when Samuel Wowoah added a second goal three minutes later.
IFK, who were missing a number of players through injury, are now unbeaten in five games as they keep the pressure up in the pacesetters.
