England: Carling Cup Draw- Tottenham go to Grimsby [Sat Aug 27th, 2005]
The draw for the second round of England’s League Cup (the Carling Cup) has pitted Tottenham Hotspur against Grimsby Town, who shocked Championship side Derby County in round one.
Aston Villa face a potentially hazardous away tie at Wycombe Wanderers, while West Ham United travel to Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester City are at Doncaster Rovers.
The eight clubs who qualified for European competitions do not enter the competition until the third round. They include holders Chelsea, last season’s beaten finalists Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Everton, Bolton, Middlesborough and Newcastle.
