England: Sunderland goalkeeper Poom moves to Arsenal on loan [Wed Aug 31st, 2005]

London (Reuters) - Sunderland's Estonian international goalkeeper Mart Poom has joined Arsenal on loan until January, the clubs said.

The 33-year-old Poom, with 101 Estonian caps to his name, has not played for Sunderland or his country since October 2004, after suffering a knee injury that required surgery.

He is back to full fitness but has not been able to regain his place in the first team at Sunderland, although he has been included in Estonia's squad for Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Latvia.
