Germany: Pantelic loaned to Hertha [Wed Aug 31st, 2005]

Hertha Berlin have signed free-scoring Red Star Belgrade captain Marko Pantelic on loan until June 30, 2006.

The 26-year-old striker scored 20 league goals last season and also netted three times in Red Star's 7-1 aggregate UEFA Cup triumph over Croatian side Inter Zapresic recently.

If he is successful for Hertha, then the German club will have the option to sign him permanently next northern summer.

Pantelic started his career at Red Star but has also had spells at Iraklis, the Greek club he joined as a 17-year-old, Paris St Germain, Losana, Celta Vigo, Sturm Graz, Obilic, and Sartid before returning to Red Star in January, 2004.
