Revised Israel squad for World Cup qualifiers [Wed Aug 31st, 2005]

Tel Aviv (Reuters) - Israel coach Avraham Grant named striker Pini Balili and dropped fellow attacker Lior Asoulin for the World Cup European Group 4 qualifiers against Switzerland in Basel on September 3 and the Faroe Islands in Torshavn on September 7.

Balili is suspended for the match in Basel but will be available to face the Faroes. Israel's 22-man squad leave for Switzerland today.

Goalkeepers: Nir Davidovich (Maccabi Haifa), Dudu Awat (Racing Santander), Ohad Cohen (Maccabi Petah Tikva).

Defenders: Tal Ben Haim (Bolton Wanderers), Arik Benado, Adoram Keisi, Alon Harazi and Klemi Saban (Maccabi Haifa), Shimon Gershon (Hapoel Tel Aviv), Avi Yehiel (Maccabi Tel Aviv).

Midfielders: Yossi Benayoun (West Ham United), Avi Nimni (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Idan Tal, Yaniv Katan, Michael Zandberg (Maccabi Haifa), Walid Badir (Hapoel Tel Aviv), Abbas Suan (Bnei Sakhnin).

Strikers: Salim Tuama and Omer Golan (Maccabi Petah Tikva), Yossi Shivhon (Hapoel Petah Tikva), Moshe Biton (Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv), Pini Balili (Sivasspor).
