Italy: Roma sign Brazilian keeper [Wed Aug 31st, 2005]

AS Roma have signed their back-up for young homegrown keeper Gianluca Curci.

The confirmation of the deal arrived from the new Giallorosso himself, the 26-year-old Brazilian keeper Doni.

“I signed the contract this morning. There are still a couple of details to resolve, but the operation can consider itself sealed,” he told a local Rome radio station.

“I have no problems being a reserve keeper, but I would like to play my chances until the end,” he added.

Doni joins Roma from Juventude, and is considered to be one of the best keepers in Brazil.
