Germany: Stuttgart send Elson home [Thu Sep 1st, 2005]
Stuttgart have sent midfielder Elson Falcao da Silva back to Brazil until the end of the season to gain some much-needed match practice after his stay in the Bundesliga was blighted by injury.
The 23-year-old joined Stuttgart from Palmeiras during the January transfer window of the 2004/05 season, but has not made the progress expected of him by the German side.
"Elson has been unlucky with injuries ever since joining Stuttgart and has therefore been unable to show his full potential with VfB," said Stuttgart general manager Jochen Schneider.
"He should get some match practice in Brazil and come back to us at the start of next season tanked up with self-confidence."
Elson made only three fleeting appearances for Stuttgart under former coach Matthias Sammer and will now hope for a little more success with new club Ponte Preta, who have agreed to take him on a one-year loan deal.
