Italy: New owner for Torino [Thu Sep 1st, 2005]

Editor Urbano Cairo is the new proprietor of Torino after weeks of negotiations.

The lawyers of Cairo reached an agreement with Luca Giovannone, who will now only control 2% of the shares, without any right of vote.

The Toro fans had protested throughout the city against the possibility that Giovannone could take full control of the club, as they backed Turin-based Cairo.
