Holland: Reiziger, Carrizo join PSV [Thu Sep 1st, 2005]
Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven managed to sign Dutch international Michael Reiziger and Juan Carlos Carrizo ahead of the transfer deadline.
Reiziger arrives from Middlesborough on a free transfer while Carrizo joins from San Lorenzo.
It is the capture of Reiziger, who has also played for Ajax, AC Milan and Barcelona in an illustrious career, which will excite the PSV fans, however.
The 32-year-old told the club's official website, www.psv.nl: "I have the ambition to play at a high level. When PSV came in for me, we quickly came to an agreement. I know the club and I know the competition.
"I am very happy that I could make this step. And I hope that we can equal what PSV did last season, or do even better."
Reiziger's time at Boro was blighted by injury but he is grateful they allowed him the chance to move back to Holland.
He added: "Middlesborough did cooperate in the transfer. Last season I had a difficult time at Middlesbrough because of a shoulder operation. This is a fresh start."
Carrizo is an Argentina youth international.
The left-footed midfielder started his career at Argentinos Juniors, following in the footsteps of Diego Maradona.
