US: FC Dallas' Cassar out for 6-8 weeks [Thu Sep 1st, 2005]

FC Dallas goalkeeper Jeff Cassar will miss 6-8 weeks with a separation of the AC joint in his right shoulder. Cassar suffered the injury in the 59th minute of FCD's 2-2 draw with Chivas USA last weekend.

“It’s obviously a huge loss to be without your starting keeper, and it looks like he’ll probably be out for six weeks minimum,” FC Dallas Head Coach Colin Clarke said. “That pretty much takes us to the end of the regular season, so we just have to re-evaluate our situation and decide whether or not we need to add someone to the squad."

Veteran keeper Scott Garlick steps back into the starting role he began the season with. He will be backed up by rookie keeper Chris Gomez, who has not played a minute yet.
