Injured Frings to miss Germany friendlies [Fri Sep 2nd, 2005]
Frankfurt (Reuters) - Torsten Frings will miss Germany's friendly internationals against Slovakia and South Africa because of an inflamed ankle.
The Werder Bremen midfielder aggravated the problem in his left ankle in the UEFA Champions League qualifier against FC Basel last week.
He was sent home from the training camp in Berlin after an examination by Dr Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt.
Juergen Klinsmann, coach of the 2006 World Cup hosts, decided not to call up a replacement for Frings for the two games, against Slovakia in Bratislava on Saturday and against South Africa in Bremen.
Bremen play their first Group C Champions League match against Barcelona on September 14.
