Spain: Bilbao face goalkeeping crisis [Fri Sep 2nd, 2005]

Athletic Bilbao coach Jose Luis Mendilibar is facing a goalkeeping crisis just one game into the start of the new season.

First-choice keeper Dani Aranzubia is rated doubtful for next week's Primera Liga fixture at Getafe after dislocating a finger in training.

And now Miguel Escalona has also been ruled out of action for several weeks after an accident in training left him with a broken bone in his hand.

That leaves Mendilibar with just Inaki Lafuente available, with the club forced to call in reserve keeper Igor Exteberria as cover.
