Brazil: Santos playmaker heartily approves Kléber signing [Fri Sep 2nd, 2005]
Midfield playmaker Ricardinho commemorated the signing of left-back Kléber from Basel (Switzerland), delighted that two-thirds of what Carlos Alberto Parreira called “the finest left side in the world†can be reunited at the Vila Belmiro.
The pair found success under the command of the current seleção boss at Corinthians, teaming up with zippy winger Gil to drive defences wild and bring home silverware to the Parque São Jorge before Parreira’s return to the Canarinha.
"I’m really happy to see Kléber coming back to Brazil, principally because he’s coming to Santos. He’s a player with a lot to offer to our team... When we played together, things meshed tightly and we achieved great things. I hope we’re able to do the same at Santos.â€
The agreement is a loan with priority option to buy when the loan expires next march. Santos have forked out a million Euros for the provisional loan – it would need another two million to formalise a permanent move to Santos.
