Bahrain plan for World Cup playoff first leg replay [Tue Sep 13th, 2005]

Bahrain are due to begin preparing for the rescheduled World Cup playoff with Uzbekistan on September 28.

The first leg will take place in Tashkent on October 8 after the original game was declared invalid due to Japanese referee’s Yoshimitsu Toshida’s technical error.

The AFC’s official site reported that the Bahrain team manager Mohammed Abdul Razzaq denied that the Bahrain Football Association wanted the first leg to be played at a neutral venue.

"The Bahrain FA only explained the security situation in Uzbekistan during the first leg match, which was later cancelled by FIFA following Japanese referee Yoshimitsu Toshida’s "technical error," he said.
