Germany: Double blow for Dortmund [Tue Sep 13th, 2005]

Borussia Dortmund's season finally got off the ground on Sunday, but at a heavy price, with strikers Delron Buckley and Cedric van der Gun both picking up injuries.

South African Buckley was forced to leave the field in the 40th minute after picking up an ankle injury which could force him out for several weeks.

He was replaced by new signing Van der Gun, whose debut lasted only 10 minutes, five either side of the interval.

Van der Gun, who is Dutch and has only just joined Borussia from ADO Den Haag, left the field with a serious knee injury and could be out for up to six months, should the initial diagnosis of torn cruciate ligaments be confirmed on Monday.
