Belgium: Westerlo sign Algerian [Thu Sep 15th, 2005]

Westerlo have signed Algeria international Samir Beloufa from Jupiler League rivals Mouscron.

The 26-year-old defender, who previously had a spell at Germinal Beerschot, has been released by Mouscron for financial reasons.

Beloufa has been on trial at a clutch of Italian sides, while Lierse were also monitoring his situation.

But he has now penned a four-year deal at Westerlo, who are currently sitting fourth in the league table.
