Italy: Lecce up for sale [Thu Sep 15th, 2005]
Lecce are up for sale following owner Rico Semeraro's decision to bring to an end his 11-year relationship with the Serie A club.
Semeraro has received constant criticism from the Giallorossi fans ever since he dismissed team coach Zdenek Zeman earlier this northern summer.
The team's results so far this campaign have not helped smooth relations between the club owner and the fans. Lecce lost their opening game against Livorno and only managed a goalless draw against newcomers Ascoli last weekend.
"Considering the latest demonstration shown by the fans against our club, after a long consideration my family has decided to bring to an end our working relationship which began in 1994," said Semeraro at a press conference.
