Norway: Rosenborg hope Olympiakos win will boost domestic form [Thu Sep 15th, 2005]

Oslo (Reuters) - Rosenborg Trondheim's upset 3-1 victory over Olympiakos, the Norwegians' first away win in the UEFA Champions League since 1999, should help inspire a fight against relegation at home, the coach said.

"We've shown we can score goals and hope to take this with us to Molde," Per Mathias Hoegmo told NRK radio. Rosenborg face Molde away at the weekend.

The win over Olympiakos follows a stunning downturn for the Norwegian champions, who had won their domestic league for a record 13 seasons in a row, but this season are 10th of 14 after losing five games in a row.

In the UEFA Champions League, Rosenborg had not won an away match since beating Dortmund 3-0 in October 1999.

They have played every season since then except 2003-04, but their last home victory was a 2-0 win over Celtic in 2001.
