Asian Champions League: Pas denied by own goal [Fri Sep 16th, 2005]

Pas looked like taking a one-goal advantage home for next week's second leg of the quarter-final game with Al Ain until international defender Mohammad Nosrati put through his own goal.

Al Ain (UAE) 1-1 Pas (Iran)

The third own goal in the four quarter-final games gave the 2003 winners Al Ain a share of the points against a determined Iranian side that played for most of the second half with ten men.

Arash Borhani gave Pas the lead after only ten minutes and the 2004 Iranian champions looked likely to extend that advantage as the game progressed.

The sending off of goalkeeper Hassan Roudbarian for handling outside the box on the hour gave the hosts the impetus they needed and they were grateful to be able to take a point to Teheran next week, thanks to the fact that Mohammad Nosrati’s attempted clearance ended up in the back of the net.
