NZ Knights name unchanged squad [Fri Sep 16th, 2005]

The New Zealand Knights will go into their Hyundai A-League match with the Newcastle Jets on Sunday evening with an unchanged squad.

After beating the Central Coast Mariners 2-0 at Central Coast Stadium last week, the Knights are full of confidence for their trip to Newcastle, and manager John Adshead says there is no need for any changes.

"Now is not the time to make drastic changes, now is the time to get our feet firmly on the ground and work hard at further improvement," Adshead said. "Newcastle are a form side and will be on a high after their victory over Sydney last weekend.

"We must continue to concentrate on our own performance and standards with improvement each week if we are to be a competitive force in this league. Last week was good but that is exactly where it should be left, in the past. There is certainly no chance to draw breath in a very competitive environment."

Naoki Imaya is still a week or two away from full fitness, while Josh Maguire and Frank van Eijs are both pushing for a first-team place after injury and illness respectively.
