UEFA Cup: Borgetti hits Bolton injury time winner in 2-1 victory [Fri Sep 16th, 2005]
London (Reuters) - Mexico striker Jared Borgetti scored two minutes into injury time to give European debutants Bolton Wanderers a 2-1 home win over Bulgaria's Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the first leg of their UEFA Cup first round tie.
Borgetti, a second half substitute, scored his first Bolton goal from a tight angle at close range after Japan's Hidetoshi Nakata had flicked on a cross by French substitute Fabrice Fernandes.
Bolton had fallen behind just before the half hour when Boban Jancevski scored from Vladimir Ivanov's right cross.
The English Premier League side, with Nakata making his first start for the club, equalised with 18 minutes remaining through El Hadji Diouf's diving header from a cross by Nicky Hunt.
