Adelaide snare Fernando Rech [Fri Sep 16th, 2005]

Adelaide United FC have announced the signing of former NSL player Fernando Rech.

Rech, who played under Adelaide United coach John Kosmina for the Brisbane Strikers, as well as having a spell with Parramatta Power, has signed a two-year deal with his new club.

"After an extensive search, which has taken us across the globe for the best possible player that would fit within our salary cap, it was decided that Fernando has all the credentials to enhance our squad," a statement from Adelaide United FC CEO Michael Petrillo read on the club’s official website.

"He is a former NSL Player of the Year, is familiar with Australia, has played under John (Kosmina) previously and brings a touch of Brazilian magic not only to our club, but to the A-League."

Rech, who has been playing in his native Brazil, will wear the number 10 shirt left vacant by the retirement of Aurelio Vidmar and is expected to arrive in Adelaide on Monday.
