Belgium: Gent's good win at Mouscron [Sat Sep 17th, 2005]

Excelsior Mouscron continue to struggle in Belgium's Jupiler League after slumping to their fifth defeat of the season.

Gent were the visitors to the Stade du Canonnier, and needed just six minutes to find the target thanks to Christophe Gregoire's early strike.

The visitors then doubled their advantage in the 26th minute through Maamar Mamouni, although Jose Tailson pulled one back for Mouscron five minutes later.

But it proved to be nothing more than a consolation for the home side. as Gent held on for a 2-1 win and three points to move them up to sixth in the standings.

Mouscron, however, have just one win from their opening six fixtures and remain two places off the foot of the table.
