Brazil: São Paulo's Grafite unharmed in car crash [Sun Sep 18th, 2005]
Still recovering from the knee injury suffered in the Copa Libertadores grudge match against Palmeiras, striker Grafite almost threw away three months of physiotherapy as he was involved in a smash-up with two other cars on São Paulo’s North Side.
The player was at the driving seat in the small hours of Saturday morning, evidently having progressed through his physio, but fortunately didn’t suffer any aggravation of the existing injury or a fresh one.
In line with police procedure, the occupants of the three cars passed through Mandaqui hospital and were discharged after being given the all-clear. The accident comes a month after Corinthians midfielder Rosinei was involved in a crash, losing control of his car as he took a corner at high speed.
