Lokomotiv's lead cut in Russia [Mon Sep 19th, 2005]
A late goal from Dmitri Sennikov saw Lokomotiv Moscow snatch a 1-1 draw at Rostov to keep them in pole position in the Russian Premier Liga.
The visitors appeared to be still suffering the effects of their midweek UEFA Cup win over Brann when the defence failed to pick up a 24th-minute cross from Rostov's Jafet Zvane, allowing Mikhail Osinov to tap in the opener.
However, Lokomotiv battled back strongly in the second half and were finally rewarded for their efforts four minutes from time, when Sennikov struck the equaliser.
Lokomotiv's lead at the top has been reduced to five points however, after city rivals CSKA picked up a 1-0 win at Saturn Moscow.
Alexandro Dudu scored the only goal of the game after 12 minutes to give CSKA a welcome three points in their race to catch the pacesetters.
Third-placed Zenit St Petersburg are still breathing down the necks of the top two after a 4-0 rout of Torpedo Moscow.
Goals from Alexander Kerzhakov, Andrei Arshavin and Igor Denisov (two) sealed the win for Zenit to keep them level on 43 points with CSKA.
Krylia Sovetov continue to struggle at the wrong end of the table after slumping to a 3-1 loss at Shinnik Yaroslavl - Kshishtof Lagievka, Sergey Shtanuk and Anton Khazov on the scoresheet for the winners.
