In Colombia, leaders America lost 3-1 away at Medellin in round 11 of the Copa Mustang II, but stay top with 24 points - two ahead of Pereira.

Fabian Estay scored for America, while Juan Pablo Pino, Diego Alvarez and Cesar Valoyes netted for Medellin.

Pereira closed the gap after they won 1-0 against Real Cartagena, who dropped to fourth place on 19 points after the defeat.

In Mexico, America held on to second place in the Apertura Tournament on 20 points, one behind leaders Cruz Azul, after they beat Tecos 2-1 in round eight.

Christian Gimenez opened the scoring for America only for Eliomar Marcon to level but Reinaldo Navia hit the winner at the start of the second half.

In Sunday's other game, Santos defeated San Luis 3-1.

In Chile, Santiago Wanderers beat Everton 1-0 thanks to Joel Soto's goal in the first half, in round nine of the Clausura Tournament.

In Uruguay, Rampla Juniors pulled of a shock 3-0 home victory against giants Nacional in round four of the Apertura Tournament.

The goals were scored by Marco Garcia, Carlos Aguiar and Pedro Gonzalez.

In other games, Danubio beat Fenix 2-0 and Plaza Colonia and Liverpool drew 0-0.

In Argentina, Boca won 2-0 at Gimnasia y La Plata in round seven of the Apertura Tournament and climbed to third place with 14 points - one behind leaders San Lorenzo and Banfield.

Banfield beat Colon 2-0 thanks to goals from Dario Cvitanich and Jose Sand (penalty), while Argentinos defeated Rosario Central 1-0 to move level with Boca.

Defending champions Velez beat River 1-0 with a goal by Claudio Enria.

In Brazil, Internacional climbed to the top of the Campeonato Brasileiro with 47 points after they beat Atletico Paranaense 3-2 in round 26 of the tournament.

Their goals were scored by Ricardinho, Jorge Wagner and Rafael Sobis.

Corinthians defeated Figuirense 3-2 and joined Fluminense in second place with 46 points, one behind leaders.

Fluminense drew 0-0 against Coritiba and missed out on the top spot, while Santos lost 3-0 against Atletico Mineiro.

In Ecuador, El Nacional stay top of the Clausura tournament with 20 points after they won 3-1 against Espoli in round nine with all their goals coming in the last 15 minutes.

Barcelona beat Aucas 2-0 and stay in second place with 15 points - five behind the leaders.

Also, Deportivo Quito and Deportivo Cuenca drew 1-1 and dropped further behind the leaders.

In Venezuela, Maracaibo stay top of the Apertura Tournament after beating Mineros 1-0 in round six thanks to Giancarlos Maldonado's injury-time goal.

Maracaibo now have 13 points, two ahead of Deportivo Tachira and Aragua.

In Paraguay, Olimpia beat 12 de Octubre 2-0 in round seven and joined Sportivo Luqueno in the third place of the Clausura Tournament with 11 points - four behind leaders Nacional and two behind second-placed Cerro Porteno.

Sportivo Luqueno drew 1-1 against 3 de Febrero.

In Bolivia, four teams are joint top in the Apertura Tournament after four games - San Jose, Wilstermann, The Strongest and Blooming.

The Strongest lost the outright leadership after crashing to a 3-0 defeat against Bolivar.

Blooming drew 1-1 against Oriente Petrolero, Wilstermann beat Aurora 2-1 and San Jose and Real Potosi drew 1-1.

In Peru, Sporting Cristal reduced the difference with the leaders Sport Ancash in the Clausura Tournament after they beat Union Hurual 1-0 in round eight thanks to Luis Bonnet's penalty.

Finally, in Costa Rica, Perez Zeledon and Brujas drew 1-1 in round seven of the Apertura Tournament.

Other results saw Liberia beat Ramonense 1-0 and Cartagines defeat Carmelita 3-0.
