England: Tottenham's Gardner facing two months out [Tue Sep 20th, 2005]

Tottenham defender Anthony Gardner is facing two months on the sidelines after he suffered a serious thigh injury in their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

The centre-back had to be stretchered off and boss Martin Jol is fearing the worst.

Jol said: "It looks as if it could be a bad one but we’ll have to wait and see. It’s a great shame for Anthony, because he has done well this season."

Gardner, who has made a superb start to the season, had been linked with a move to Charlton in the summer, but was reported to have failed a medical with the club.
