Portugal: Maritimo coach resigns after bad start [Tue Sep 20th, 2005]
Lisbon (Reuters) - Maritimo coach Rui Rodrigues "Juca" has resigned after only four games of the Portuguese league season, the Madeira Island club said.
The decision, posted on the club's official website, follows a 2-2 draw at home to Penafiel, which gave 14th-placed Maritimo only their second point.
Juca, whose departure was by mutual consent, became the first coaching casualty in the Portuguese top flight this season.
Club officials will take over the coaching duties while the board looks for a successor.
