Basualdo resigns as coach of Peru's Universitario [Tue Sep 20th, 2005]

Lima (Reuters) - Former Argentina international Jose Basualdo has resigned as coach of Universitario after local media began publishing speculation about his private life.

"My stint with Universitario has finished," the 41-year-old told reporters after his team drew 0-0 with local rivals Alianza Lima.

"I came here to coach a football team, not to lose my family," he said, describing the rumours as an invention and madness.
