referees brilliant? As I`ve got older and the footballers younger I`ve come to appreciate
the varying degrees of talent of our "Men in Black". Internationally, Pierluigi Collina is the top man. Sunday lunch followed by Italian football on Channel 4! Those were the days! Now its been relegated to the middle of the night! Aaghh! Shame on you C4! Remember when we were only really interested in Gazza, Platty or Incey, and how they were shaping up against the best of Serie A? Well, it was one big yawn all right. HOWEVER....... one Pierluigi Collina emerged from the italian smokebombs, to capture the imagination of myself and thousands of other football fans across Europe. Gazza and co. have faded from the big time, BUT the 'italian stallion' is here to stay, not least on my dedicated web site. British referees are pretty good too, maybe not as lithe as their Italian counterparts, but just as competent. (Never believe the British press!) Included in this website are David Elleray, now too old for international duty, but he`s still top dog! Jeff Winter....almost as scarey as Collina. Graham Poll...cute or what? Graham Barber....love the hair; and Alan Wiley....I wonder if policemen still carry truncheons?...Hmmmm!
