Charlton Betting Preview
If they get off to a poor start it could be a torrid season for Iain Dowie and Charlton. They’ve always started well and then faded. The problem for Dowie is that after Alan Curbishley, it is such a hard act to follow, and if things don’t go according to plan, it could be a tricky season. They had a great start last year and seemed to cruise through the first half of the season, but then went a bit stale in the second half.
Charlton do possess a potent strikeforce in Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Darren Bent, which should get them goals, so it is unlikely that they’ll go down and in Iain Dowie they have a hungry young manager of some pedigree. It is just that this first season is fraught with danger. To take over a successful regime that has lasted for fifteen years is a tall order but Dowie has a lot of talent and his Charlton team is very capable.
