Celtic striker John Hartson has joined West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee, and signed a two-year deal.
The 31-year-old had a year to run on his contract in Scotland, but was keen to return to English football.
"The feeling of scoring a goal at Celtic Park is something that will live with me always," he told the website of his representatives, the Stellar Group.
"I had five fantastic years in Scotland and been lucky enough to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world."
The Welshman, who retired from international football earlier this year after winning 51 caps, added: "The time is now right for me to make a change and to return to English football.
"I spoke to Bryan Robson and was impressed with his plans for next season.
"Obviously he wants Premiership football back at the Hawthorns as soon as possible and that leaves me with another big challenge on my hands.
"I feel fit and healthy and cannot wait for the new season to start now. I am looking forward to a new adventure."
this has really shocked me with hartson going to west brom when they are in the championship..but its a positive ofr west brom becasue hartson has scored plenty of goals for celtic and by west brom picking up hartson they could possibly get promoted straight back up to the premiership..
but overall a top signing..surprise signing for me..:)
