he young Gunners romped to a 5-0 win over Southend in their last South East Counties outing, on March 22.

Paolo Vernazza fired us ahead from a 24th minute penalty, after he'd been floored inside the box.

Tommy Black hit our second ten minutes later, finishing the loose ball goalkeeper SteveSpittle had denied Vernazza.

Southend defender Tom McDonald stuck out a foot and diverted in Andrew Douglas's cross shot for our third.

Douglas made it 4-0 after 71 minutes, taking on a through ball and finishing clinically from the edge of the box.

Vernazza, with a twisting run and silky finish, hit our fifth.

Arsenal: Richardson, McLeod (Perna, 59 mins), Day, Crowe (Livermore, 28 mins), Clark, MacDonald, Bowes, Douglas, T.Black (Riza, 81 mins), Vernazza, Lincoln.
