FC Twente Preview

Verdict: Battle for UEFA-cup spot

For a change there was silence in Enschede this summer. Every summer they lose their best players and sign loads of new ones, but this season it's different. They didn't lose any important players, only subs, and signed some extremely well players on exactly the places where they needed them most. Wielaert, Bakkal and Wilkshire are not really superb players, but they are right what Twente was looking for. Most important change however is the signing of Rutten as new headcoach, and Eijkelkamp as assistant. Hiddink's left and righthand last season are familiar with the Twenteculture as both were at Twente before, and these coaches fit perfect in Enschede. Big advantage at the start of the season will be the fact Twente played already Intertoto and UEFA Cup preliminaries, so have played some serious games already.
