Wigan Betting Preview
Can Wigan really achieve as much as they did last year? All the sides know what they are about now and it will be no honeymoon this year. They have lost Jason Roberts and they will miss his lively influence up front. Wigan have brought in Emile Heskey as a replacement and although he will do a job, he is not the most frightening striker for a back four to be facing.
They had some terrific results last season, but you suspect that a lot of these won’t be repeated. It could affect morale if Wigan were to start the campaign slowly, but they lost the first two games last year and still regrouped and strung some great results together. Maybe it is harsh to write them off. The common consensus though is that they will struggle. Wigan won 15 matches last season and lost 17. They could easily just win around 10 matches this time around, in which case they might be struggling perilously close to the relegation zone.
